Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SelfieCut (the "App") handles your information. SelfieCut lets you try on AI-generated hairstyles, hair colors, beard styles, outfits and makeup using a selfie.

1. Face Data

Because SelfieCut works with selfies, this section explains our face-data practices in full.

• What we collect. The only face data the App handles is the selfie photograph you choose to provide (taken with the camera or selected from your photo library). The App does not create, collect, or store faceprints, facial-geometry templates, or any biometric identifiers, and it does not use face data to identify you or anyone else.
• How it is used. Your selfie is used for one purpose only: to generate the styled preview image (hairstyle, hair color, beard, outfit, or makeup) or the optional Face Report you explicitly request. It is never used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or model training by us.
• Storage. Your selfie and generated results are stored locally on your device (and in your photo library only if you save a look and grant permission). We operate no servers of our own and keep no copies of your photos.
• Sharing. To generate a look, your selfie is transmitted over an encrypted connection (TLS) to OpenAI, our AI image-processing provider, solely to produce the image you requested. Face data is shared with no other third party. Our analytics and subscription services (Section 5) never receive photos or face data.
• Retention and deletion. We retain your face data for no time at all on our side — processing is transient and nothing is stored outside your device. Per OpenAI's API data-usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train OpenAI's models and may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days solely for abuse and misuse monitoring, after which they are deleted. On your device, you can delete any saved look at any time in the App, and deleting the App removes all locally stored photos and results immediately.

2. Photos You Provide

• Your selfie — when you request an AI look, the photo you choose is sent securely to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) solely to generate the styled image you asked for. It is transmitted over encrypted connections.
• Generated results — the styled images are returned to your device and cached locally so repeated requests don't need re-processing. We do not keep copies on servers we operate.
• Saved looks — looks you save are stored on your device (and in your photo library if you grant permission). Deleting the app deletes its local data.

3. Information We Collect

• Anonymous identifier — a random ID generated on first launch, used to associate your subscription with your installation (via RevenueCat).
• Purchase data — receipts and subscription status from the Apple App Store. We never receive your payment card details.
• Usage analytics — anonymous product events (for example, which screens are visited and whether onboarding is completed) via Amplitude, so we can improve the App. Analytics events never include your photos, face data, name, or free-text input.
• Support messages — if you email us, we receive what you choose to send.

4. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not build a database of your photos; selfies are processed to generate your requested image and are not used to train models by us or, per their API policy, by OpenAI.
• We do not create or store biometric identifiers or facial-recognition templates.
• We do not collect your real name, phone number, or precise location.
• We do not sell or rent personal data, and we show no third-party advertising.

5. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — AI image generation and photo analysis (the only service that receives your selfie, solely to fulfil your request). API data is not used to train their models and is retained at most 30 days for abuse monitoring.
• RevenueCat — subscription management (anonymous ID and purchase status only; no photos).
• Amplitude — anonymous usage analytics (events only; no photos, no face data).
• Apple App Store — payments and receipts.

6. Children

SelfieCut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Your Choices

• You can deny camera/photo permissions; the App explains what stops working.
• You can delete saved looks in the App at any time; deleting the App removes all local data, including every photo the App has handled.
• Email us to ask questions about this policy or request assistance with data deletion.
